Assignment #7: Diptych

For the past few weeks, the weather has been mostly beautiful. No one wants to sit in a hot tub in the middle of a hot, sunny day. At night, however, it's a pretty hoppin' place. Students from all over Provo come to relax in the Glenwood Hot Tub on a nightly basis. It's a happenin' place to be every weeknight around 10:30 pm.

Assignment #6: Black & White Portraits

This is Penny. I did not know her before this assignment. She works at a fabric store off Center Street, and has been doing so (get it? play on words) for thirteen years. Penny started sewing when she was in junior high, and has had a passion for ever since then.

Meet Jeremy. I met him during this assignment as well. He is a senior at Provo High School and a bike mechanic at Bingham Cyclery. Originally from California, he plans to go back to his stomping ground to continue his education after high school. He is excited to start his mission papers in a few months.

Skylar. He is my sister's boyfriend, and a music major at BYU. He was over at our apartment one day, and was just jammin' away on my ukulele, so I asked if I could take some pictures for my project. You should hear him play some day. He's way good.

I learned that people in downtown Provo do not like having a stranger take their picture. I also learned how to get more comfortable getting to know complete strangers and asking for a quick shot.

Assignment #5: Color Portraits

Someone I Don't Know

Someone I Know

 Self Portrait

What I Learned:
First off, I learned that I make one fine lookin' nerd. Secondly, I learned that I need to get more comfortable photographing strangers, as I am not very pleased with my results from doing so.
